Reverb-heavy hardcore with D-beat tendencies (think DESTINO FINAL) that is absolutely elevated by the playful, high-pitched vocals. The interplay between the vocalist, who sounds like the singer for a lost early '80s Spanish punk band, and the band itself, who are dishing out completely straightforward grim-sounding hardcore, it's just fantastic! Given the wordplay in the record title, it's clear that the band has a sense of humor, but rather than giving in to the joke, the record is played completely straight, which makes it a very compelling listen. The last track ("Mro Zna Noc") is probably the best, a nasty mid-tempo snarl of a song like IGGY POP meets LEBENDEN TOTEN with the singer going completely nuts over the top, wailing and shrieking. Somehow her completely disarming vocals take on an unexpected and wholly welcome edge of menace, like she'd been playing at crazy all this time but holy shit, she might actually be dangerous. Features members of TERRIBLE FEELINGS and FY FAN among many others, has the most bitchin' cover art, and fucking shreds. ANTI CIMEX always gets thrown out as an influence, but it is no cop out to say this is pure GBG dirty thrash, as if CIMEX and the SHITLICKERS didn't party nearly as hard and had modern day recording technology and nicer equipment or a bigger government check. Fuck me if Adult Crash hasn't been releasing some good shit lately. Will blow the spikes off yer leather! (RO)

SORRY STATE RECORDS Even more Swedish hardcore punk from Adult Crash! To me Spraut sounds less like the classic bands from their country and more like the contemporary Texas bands exploring that sound, particularly Vaaska and Impalers. The first track could almost be a Vaaska song, right down to the vocalists’ cadence. Like those bands, Spraut also love a ripping guitar solo and know their way around a crushing mid-paced part. There isn’t much here that’s out of the box for the sound, but it has a great recording, it’s well-composed and the playing is tight and powerful.
