Sorry state review:
Extended Hell: Mortal Wound 12” (Media Disease) After two beastly 7”s, this debut 12” from New York’s Extended Hell annihilates all expectations. If you have any doubt bands are still making exciting, intense, and artistically vital hardcore in 2019, I would invite you to listen to this LP and convince me it’s not all of those things and more. Stylistically, Extended Hell lies somewhere between the best of the neo-Totalitär-type Swedish bands (think Herätys, Stress SS, etc.) and the brutal, apocalyptic crust of Framtid or Disclose, with the former's finesse the latter's power. While that’s a great stylistic spot to be in, Extended Hell isn't notable because they’ve combined two tasty ingredients, but because they’ve made them their own, spicing their bruising hardcore with some of the most creative and memorable riffing in recent memory. Moments like the primitive non-riff that drives the title track, the Buzzcocks-esque 2-note guitar lead in “Bitter Defeat,” and the almost melodic guitar leads in the chorus to the closing “Dissident” are what I live for, the reason I listen to so many new records: because there might be something as cool as this on it. Given hardcore’s narrow parameters it’s inevitable that we see a lot of records that are great for what they are, but you can't dismiss Mortal Wound so easily. I predict you’ll be seeing this record on a lot of best-of lists come December, and it deserves all the accolades it (hopefully) gets. If you only buy one new hardcore record this year, Mortal Wound would be a fine choice.

DIY CONSPIRACY review:
Portugal’s NUKKE is, undoubtedly, one of the best bands going right now. Their unrelenting attack of classic råpunk, d-beat, and red-raw thrash is exactly what punks need at the present time, and this material will be the best soundtrack to a social system falling apart.
In less than 15 minutes, these Portuguese disfuckers tear through 13 rip-roaring tracks combining blistering kängpunk, steamrolling d-beats, and incendiary riffs with plenty of Japanese-worship on display (think of a band like Crow). Vitriolic tracks like “Zero Chance Survival,” “Nukke’Em All,” and “Dead From Above” are stripped-down onslaughts of blood curdling Discharge-inspired riffs and throat-ripping vocals. There is also the sheer brutality in even faster, similarly chainsawing tracks like “Wasteland Attire”, “Hellbound Drifter”, and my personal favorite “T.S.F.L.”
Clocking in 37 seconds, this particular track is a pure, untamed audio destruction to a deadly degree. Despite their undeniable influences, however, don’t consider this band just one of your typical d-beat congregants! They have so much dynamic range in their writing that it’s absolutely astonishing to hear such an extreme variety in a as short and aggressive record as this one. In a sea of d-beat conformity, NUKKE are a prime example of (anti-) musical prowess and creativity.
No More Peace is a piercing hardcore punk record inspired by dystopian times and sociopolitical injustices, so I’m sure it will get stuck in your brain for days. The artwork is quite remarkable as well, and I just can’t stress enough how much you need this in your miserable disrocker’s life.

"A Question for Today… Not Tomorrow is the fifth record overall and second full-length from Umeå, Sweden’s Warchild. Given the band’s name and imagery, you might guess they play d-beat hardcore, and you wouldn’t be wrong. When I dropped the needle on A Question for Today…, the first comparison that came to mind was Totalitär. Like Totalitär, Warchild’s take on d-beat isn’t particularly heavy or noisy. The sound is powerful and clear, but the production doesn’t call attention to itself, instead asking you to focus on the riffs and songs. And they are killer! Again, like Totalitär, Warchild isn’t just banging out the gnarliest sounding chords they can find; their riffs feel well constructed, a sense of melody lurking just enough in the background to give the songs shape and character without distracting from their grittiness and power. The songs have a subtle cycle of building and releasing tension, several of them erupting in climactic guitar solos that, like the riffs, have the texture of Disclose-esque gestalt, but with that trademark sense of melody just outside the frame. A Question for Today... is an infectious record that’s almost too well done for its own good. If you’re into this particular Swedish hardcore sound, this isn’t one to miss."
"Horryfying and violent noisy d-beat hardcore punk act from Boston with members of G.A.S.H., Video Filth, Aspects of War, Human Bodies.
To me its kind of mixture between anarchist/anti-war ideology of Crass, live violent actions of singer Ghost in the vein of GISM (of their golden EARLY years for sure), industrial/harsh noise parts by Bombings and all these injected into good overfuzzed d-beat punk!
The LP contains their demo,1st time on vinyl and their following 7 which was remastered by Jack Control. Enjoy it!"

Newest recordings from swedish hardcore / crust band M:40. Four new songs about giving up and fighting back. The title of this ten inch, which in english would be the pale horse of death, is a natural continuation of the the last album Arvsynd. Except nothing less than heaviness combined with d-beat madness, desperate outbursts and controlled eerie darkness. They haven’t changed the weapons, but time has sharpened the knives. Songs written on the cold hearted plains of Skaraborg, recorded at the End studio on the unforgiving fields outside Lund. The bomb has fallen yet again. War is already upon us.
"Classic 90ies D-Beat Raw Punk/Crustpunk straight outta UK. Their demo from the 90ies including the songs from the split 7inch with Disclose and a few tracks from compilations. The band features Stick (of Doom, Excrement Of War, ENT etc etc etc) and people of Cracked Cop Skulls, Napalm Death, Ripcord. Total Discharge Style Raw Punk Noize, the way we like it." - Burning anger Records

"The war currently happening at the edge of Europe and the threat of a larger scale conflict make it so awkward to promote a record. The name Bombardement has never sounded scarier and more relevant. Le Futur Est Là, written and recorded during pandemic lockdowns, features 8 new songs of the same old menacing d-beat driven hardcore punk with flashing guitars aplenty, and vocalist Oriane now raging in French." Symphony of Destruction
Review by louder than war:
Burning Flag’s 3rd album Matador is equal parts crushing, subterranean, atmospheric and galloping momentum. It has a heavy dose of the sonics of modern metal, but at it’s heart it is political punk says Nathan Brown.
Dismissing Burning Flag as “Scathing Northern Punk Noise” as they claim on Facebook would be selling them short. Their music will be right up your alley if you love a bit of the old “crust”. Where metal meets punk, with pounding drums and anarcho attitude. They’ve listened to rule number one of punk: hit the drums hard. Downtuned guitars with the odd minor chord ooze heaviness with the metally tone providing a satisfying elastic twang from single strings here and there. Combined with the crushing bass sound, at times the music is dark enough to sound subterranean. There are brief moments where they have a more atmospheric feel with a hint of Killing Joke and the death rock sound. Whilst they start off at breakneck speed, Burning Flag don’t rely on this gimmick, using heaviness and good driving riffs to power the album along....."
Warcry is a Portland Oregon based D-beat band featuring Todd of Tragedy and His Hero Is Gone fame on vocals and Keith from Hellshock, The Estranged, Lebenden Toten and Black Water Records on drums. Savage Machinery is the band's fourth full-length LP, which was just released on the band's own imprint Warcry Records for the U.S. market. For the first time on Agipunk, Warcry's Savage Machinery features ten tracks of vicious and brutal sounding D-BEAT. Those who think of this band as Tragedy's faster, louder, and angrier little brothers (mostly since because they have the same vocalist), are completely wrong, as even with the similar vocal style Warcry sound pretty much nothing like Tragedy. As with all of their other records, the inspiration here is classic d-beat of the type that we generally associate with mid-to-late-80s Scandinavia... if you dig records like Anti-Cimex's "Criminal Trap" 12", Totalitär's "Sin Egan Motstandare", or Nuclear Death Terror's "S/T" LP you'll definitely be able to rage out to this one. Great riffs, totally bruising recording, and all of the top-notch quality you would expect from this camp. These ten songs are flawlessly executed and will definitely appeal to fans of this style of music. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
It's with great pleasure that we announce the Swedish raw punk legends ANTI CIMEX have finally reached the joyful lands of Agipunk. On this record we're collecting in chronological order all the demos and the studio recording sessions that haven't been released on any official release so far. A total of 29 tracks that originally appeared on "K.A.A.S January 1982", "K.A.A.S April 1982", "En Produkt Av Dagens Skitsamhälle" tapes plus the studio session right before the "Raped Ass" 7" EP and the discarded recordings for the full length that never saw the light and eventually became the "Victims Of A Bomb Raid" 7" EP. All you Cimex maniacs out there probably already know most of the songs, but you'll definitely find a bunch of extremely obscure tracks which I bet you've never heard before. All the tracks come from the original tapes and the sound has been restored and remastered by Lasse at Ballade Studio in Copenhagen.
