"BLACK UNIFORMS are one of the most cult bands from an already-cult scene. Originally active from 1981-1983 and then from 1986 until the beginning of the '90s, BLACK UNIFORMS hailed from the Swedish hardcore punk scene, which sprung up in the wake of Discharge's landmark Why? and then took on a life of its own, often out-Discharging Discharge and successively becoming its own influential paradigm that still endures to this day. As such, BLACK UNIFORMS early on bore the distinct mark of Discharge, but particularly during their second run, just like many hardcore-punk bands the world over, they took on a thrashier aspect that many of the original UK82 bands helped jumpstart - namely The Exploited, English Dogs, and especially Broken Bones. Retroactively, BLACK UNIFORMS are most renown for the membership of one Cliff Lundberg, who played bass for Moderat Likvidation during the former's first hiatus but more so as guitarist for Anti-Cimex's massively influential second period before then going on to form the legendary Driller Killer."

FILTH OF MANKIND not only took their name from an early MISERY song but also managed to put a ton of more heaviness on top of the already crushing MISERY sound and developed a soundtrack of moody, ultra heavy and atmospheric CRUST with heaps of Death Metal. The impending doom was never put into a crust punk album with more accuracy. Now, after more then 16 years since it's last vinyl reissue, this masterpiece is finally available again faithfully remastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.F.O.M. formed in Gdansk, Poland in 1996 and only recorded the 7" and the album before the classic line-up folded in 2001 with members parting ways to concentrate on new projects. Just one of them being the mighty MORNE from Boston,USA. A version of F.O.M. continued for a few years but never recorded anything during that period. In a world saturated by an ever-growing abundance of hardcore, punk and everything in between, it’s tough to decipher at times what will stand the test of time and what will wither into the ether.
Since 2015, Svaveldioxid has been gracing our ears and is here for the long haul.
I can say this band will stand the test of endurance with their sincere passion for good hardcore punk.
For me, punk rock has always been more about the presence of its spirit and general message than its fashion statement and these guys prove they are not here to impress you with shallow punk rock tropes, but to enhance the harsh musical experience that comes with a strong mind and message behind what they are doing.
This two-track gem (Mental Skyttegrav flexi) is a D-beat behemoth that’s sonically on point with their Stockholm roots.
We know that Sweden is home to some of the worlds best extreme music and Svaveldioxid is one that comes out on top and will continue to carry the banner in the world of classic kang punk.
The punk rock powerhouse Blown Out Media was gracious enough to release this flexi, which is a precursor to their forthcoming LP, Världselände.
This little gem (Mental Skyttegrav flexi) gives us an excellent idea of what’s to come (Världselände 12-inch record) and I personally look forward to hearing what will easily become a favorite for the year.
