Six years ago Russia’s Fatum first blasted our ears with their album Skverna. Six years is quite a long time in anything. But even longer in underground music. The band since have released records nearly every year, including split ep’s with Cancer Spreading and Distress.
With this, their new album Life Dungeon, they have surpassed themselves and reached a pinnacle in their music. People tend to debate platitude and genres in music. Whereas Fatum crank up their amps and don’t give two flying fucks what the latest avant-garde musical trend is.
Since their inception, their music is very much derived from the UK crust sound of Deviated Instinct and Out From The Void-era Antisect, but with the modus operandi being very much their own. This album opens with a wall of piercing feedback which develops into aggressive chugging with menacing chromatic chords. Also, Fatum have developed a more intense-styled, thrash-tinged guitar akin to Concrete Sox or Hellbastard. Certainly, the opening tune “Enter The Dungeon” has a Sewerside-era Concrete Sox influence. The vocals are rasping, hoarse and spat out like insults.
I’m sure in most reviews of Fatum the word ‘stenchcore’ will be mentioned – and that is fully understandable – yet there are parts such as the closing of the song “Fate” that ends very melodically. Which reoccurs, without being identical through “Escape The Dungeon,” giving it an almost prevailing tone. Of course it all eventually goes back to serious riffs. Honestly, I think could listen to the riff in “The Man Behind” all day.
Hailing from Poland, singining in Polish but not playing the Polish style crust punk you might be familiar with, played some 20 years ago. This can successfully land on your shelf next to the likes of DOOM, ENT or DISRUPT and you wouldn’t tell this band comes from an Eastern European country with serious hang-ups. Because, in fact, it is complexes-free band, that assumes boundries ceased to exist ages ago. Having learned their crust job in bands like FILTH OF MANKIND or MONEY DRUG, you know they will deliver the extremely well balanced crust punk.

Debut album from Prague's crusties KRÜGER - Oblbnute Mozky LP is out now! Get it now and be destroyed with raw and brutal d-beat / crust with double vocals alá Anti-Cimex / Crude SS. Recorded and mastered in famous Hellsound studio. And the whole album artwork is done by mighty Stiv from Visions Of War. This album will be a classic!
Anatomi-71 are back with a vengence. This is indeed a progression and a step forward from their most excellent HEJ KOM OCH HJÄLP MIG MCD. Clever and thoughtful lyrics; which make this band somewhat alone in what they are doing and doubtfully will stand out from the rest. Prepare yourself for a d-beat attack of furious anger; despair and the with the glimpse in the eye. Thus towards new heights.
DEATHTOLL and BLOWN TO BITS are both from the Bay Area in California.DEATHTOLL bring on a thick guitar sound drawn from scandi-influenced writing and vocals that punish your eardrums.Contains ex-members of ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT and DEFACE. BLOWN TO BITS are total crustpunk full of d-beats and clever guitar hooks.

”Scandinavia has a rich history of a certain stereotype: ”punk bands consisting of older metal guys that want to play d-beat and bring the heaviness and brutality of metal along with them”. Skit System, Wolfbrigade, Disfear, etc. This idea evolved across the ocean with Tragedy (USA), whose influence was felt around the world, including back in Scandinavia. Bands like Acursed, Kontrovers, Unkind, etc worked the Tragedy influence back into this sort of metallic kang, and the rest is history (aka A LOT of records by a lot of bands over many years).
It is my personal opinion that Kürøishi has managed to make the first GREAT record in this style since Pazahora made their last album 5 years ago. Veteran dudes from bands like Terveet Kadet and Deathchain playing melodic/epic metal-tinged crusty hardcore, with dynamic, memorable songs and bleak, dark riffs. The obvious comparison is Tragedy, but this is more Scandinavian and less Japanese hardcore, more depressing and more ruckus.”

HC/Crust from Mexico. If you are into classics such as Disrupt, ENT, Doom then this is a must !!.
This debut Parasight album from crust / d-beat band coming from Copenhagen will remind you times, when crust wasn´t only noise insanity covering other attributes. Still aggressive, but with melodic and unusual riffs and with dark distort atmosphere. If you can still remember bands like End Of All, To What End with a little touch of Disfear and Victims, you are on the right place. Moreover, something attractive is on dannish hardcore scene, right? So, do not let this vinyl without your attention. Parasight!
Killer Thrash/Black/Crust/D-Beat Hammer in the vin of Moribund Scum, Children Of Technology, Toxic Holocaust from Giessens Asozial Derelyction! Limited to 500 12" incl lyricsheet and all on Black Vinyl.
From the depths of Oakland CA's underground, Odio fulfills the listeners ears with intense rythmatic aggression and delay drenched vocals for the unhinged. Simplistic in idea but packing a real punch, you can't deny that these guys really know how to structure a song. Odio takes influence from the deepest darkest corners of 80's Japanese hardcore and then again from more contemporary bands from Spain. All in all Odio is making a noise of their own. The band is currently on a tour around the globe that has consisted of south East Asia, Australia, and now Europe, titled: "Odio I Confini" (Hatred Of Boarders) sharing members of other US bands Torso & Korrosive, Odio is a powerhouse live and on record. Don't miss them this summer on tour. Odio "Ancora" (Again) Is an 8 track 12" Ep that is not to be missed.

“We Don’t Need Them” is the second full-length record from West Virginia punks Appalachian Terror Unit. ATU have become known throughout the years as being one of the most politically charged bands in the current punk scene. This new record is an all out attack on today’s society that takes ATU to a new level of intensity both lyrically and musically. The combination of the beautiful and thought provoking gatefold cover (with art designed by Stiv of War) along with the brilliant recording and mastering job by Jay Matheson at the Jam Room take this record even further.
Song subjects include the horrors of war, police brutality, destruction of the environment, rape culture, consumerism and much more. Expect a very heavy and much angrier approach from a band that has been around the block and matured their sound. Seven raging new tunes including the epic fourteen and a half minute track“We Don’t Need Them”, a song that will one day be ranked among similar greats as the SUBHUMANS “From the Cradle to the Grave” and AUS ROTTEN “And Now Back to Our Programming”.

In 1996 AUS-ROTTEN released their first LP “The System Works For Them” on an unsuspecting punk scene. It spread like wildfire in a pre internet era within a genre that mostly depended on tape trading. (at least is was pre internet for us penniless punks) “The System Works For Them” was the perfect mix of anger and intelligence that the scene needed at the time (and still does today). It was like a wake up call that opened the eyes and ears to many punks the world over. The messages where crystal clear and most us were hooked as soon as the beginning shouts of “Boycott” bellowed over the speakers. I don’t believe any of us ever expected their message to resonate so well within the scene, but even more surprising is how the songs are just as relevant today as on they the day they were written. Which is why PROFANE EXISTENCE has decided to repress this record. We feel that that messages that AUS-ROTTEN brought to the table are to powerful to ignore. We feel that this LP is important and therefore should be highly available and priced affordably. We feel that those that would charge over exorbitant prices on eBay or Discogs have forgotten the message.
Are you prepared to brave the storm?…
Brace yourself for one of the most uncompromising hard hitting and politically outspoken records of this era. STORM OF SEDITION are an anti-civilization anarchist crust punk band based out of Victoria BC. Sharing members with the mighty ISKRA you can definitely expect some serious blackened crust, and yes a huge metal influence is prevalent however STORM OF SEDITION are a bit more reminiscent of bands like CONTRAVENE & NAUSEA. “Decivilize” brings a heavy anarcho punk dynamic to the table combined with over the top blackened crust grind thats littered with blistering solo’s, insanely powerful drumbeats, and thought productive lyrics that challenge our current state of human civilization. All in all this is an absolute monster of a release! Comes with a 12 page booklet containing lyrics, notes, and song explanations.Mastered by Brad Boatright @ Audiosiege
After debut LP and full EP on Phobia Records here they go with newest recordings. This is international all-star d-beat / crust line-up with current or past members from bands like Doom, Anti Cimex, The Domestics, Wolfhour, Death Dealers or Blood Sucking Freaks. They know their job, trust me! This album will smash your faces!
"The band share members of 3 Way Cum, Unarmed, Warcollapse – all the bands that released tape or EP/LP on Insane Society in last two decades. If you are into all the mentioned bands or just like classic 90´scandinavian d-beat crust let´s try SLUTET. Old (swedish) dogs still barking! "
