"Hello boys and girls.
So, what have we here, another of those heavy rock LPs? I thought that was out of style, passed on to the bargainbin at best?
Well, you might be right, but if thats the way you see it, you might as well walk over to the shelf of "top ten of the week", and a good day to you.
But if you are one of those out of style and out of order people, then maybe you came to the right place just this time.
Here we have another of those heavy rock albums, pressed into some wierd black plastic discus..
Its our first one, but its already old..both by time standards and musical contents standard. Not as old as Jerry Lee or Elvis, not as modern as Pantera, but somwhere in between. So what is it then? Well, its screamin marshalls, its some o.t.t drums, its a drunken guy from Rotviksbro howlin at the moon. Electrified mayhem, but still in control.
4 guys with russian drinkin habits, with an endless love for rock n roll acts like Girschool, Motorhead, Tank and Venom. They all bow to the altar of little Richard and totalt obay scandinavian hardcore from the 80s..
This is what happens when those 4 guys meet up, write some tunes, and finally record em.
Like it or not, we dont give a dogs ass. We are the hawks of war and our prayers goes for all out of it.

The Nature, Din medicin - LP

is a post I should have written months ago, but it’s better late than never, right?

Let’s be straight: when I received The Nature album “Din Medicin” back in August, I knew I would like it since I have been followingtheir career from their very beginnings. What I did not expect though is that it would turn out to be THAT addictive. Actually, this is one of the Swedish records I played the most in my iPod this year.

Why? Maybe it is linked with its very raw production. Or its melodic rage. Or cause it does not matter to me if I do not get the lyrics in Swedish, I can feel a punk emergency I do love. It reminds me the little rock gems of The Open Up and bleeds, another too confidential Swedish band I do fancy.

There might be some fillers within the tracklisting, but songs such as the very catchy “Förlorare” or “Ett rån” remain catchy enough to seduce anyone who enjoy punk rock music. And I always appreciate when the bass is put that forward. And the whole album sounds so sincere it is hard to resist. So don’t. Get it there.

Gasmiasma, Thermobarbarian glioblastoma - LP

Formed in 2009, the New Orleans outfit features Patrick Bruders of Down/Crowbar fame as well as Aaron Hill from Eyehatgod. But Gasmiasma is not dealing in the ultra heavy Black Flag/Black Sabbath sludge that constitutes the classic NOLA sound. This is a different beast all together.

Together with Dan McCoy from Hellkontroll and Jordan Barlow, Brudes and Hill churns out a lethal high velocity punk attack drenched in painful feedback.

You can say it’s influenced by the timeless Swedish violence of Totalitär, Anti Cimex and Shit Lickers. You can say that it bears the mark of the Japanese genius of Disclose. You can even say that it carries on the crusty legacy from ye olde UK speed heads like Doom and Extreme Noise Terror. And you’d be right.

The members of Gasmiasma carries their influences proudly on their chests, just like a weathered crust punk is never ashamed of a once white Dropdead patch on a stained and studded denim vest. Still, make no mistake: this is not a copycat band, not yet another Discharge clone.
The nine tracks on Gasmiasma’s debut album – preceded by two 7”s and a live cassette – has a distinct feel of being it’s own master. A panic inducing soundtrack for panic inducing times, as mankind rapidly approaches it’s own demise.

”Marred flesh, last breath, peace through swift death” – yup, it really hurts the mind and the ears to listen to a record like ”Thermobarbarian glioblastoma”. Pure vinyl napalm to get you in the right romantic mood for the age of the Thunderdome. See you on the other side of Armageddon, punk.
