After bursting on the scene with a killer self-released CD, Chicago's EXPENDABLE YOUTH are back with a brand new EP on Shaman Records. Like on their CD the three songs here are lengthy, multi-layered hardcore punk songs with melodic crust and metal influences. Mix one part MINOR THREAT with one part SCATHA and one part Master of Puppets-era METALLICA and you have an idea of the sound. Their lyrics are one of this band's strongest points and they convey stern messages against the Chicago Olympics in 2016, capitalism and the prison system (the later being a spoken word message with a musical accompanyment). The copies we have are hand-numbered from the first pressing of 500 and come on half black / half clear vinyl.

End of all, Places -7"

Emotive crustcore. A mixture of Skitsystem, meets a dash of black metal and dare I say it, the epicness of Tragedy. This band from Sweden sure made me pay attention. It has the aggression and power mixed with musical prowess that brings the music above the common. A controlled wall of blasting sound that brings forth a good slap in the face. It also takes you along dragging you on the ground for additional pain. The sound is so big that you feel enveloped in the energy.

Crossing Chaos, Disgusting Reality -7″

6 80’s Swedish style råpunk ragers, done by Swedes (for a change). Take the greatness of bands such as Disarm, Anti-Cimex, Moderat Likvidation and mix it up with later Swedish (Skitsystem) and American (State of Fear) raw hardcore and you’ll get the point. Pissed off and short to-the-point lyrics all backed up with fast beats, fierce guitars and dual screamed vocals. It can’t go wrong.

Here we go with 2 new songs by welsh (UK) punkrock/thrash trio BRING TO RUIN. Since fall 2012 the band continiues as a three piece but seem to gain even twice as much power as ever before. This is energetic in your face punk rock with bits and heaps of thrash thrown in here and there. - DECLARATION OF WAR feat. (ex) members of POUNDAFLESH and SUBSTANDARD, hailing from Derby (UK) and presenting their debut 4 songs on the flipside. A bulldozer of fast, harsh and heavy thrashpunk! Both bands blew my lights out recently on tour. So if you missed to grap a copy at their gig, do it now... if not, do it anyway. Good stuff.

Born/Dead, Repetition -7"

Oakland, California's BORN/DEAD charge forth with two new blasting tracks after a long hiatus- The A-Side is the chanting and unique "Repetition" which has been a focal point of their recent live sets with a classic UK Peace Punk feel. The Flip "Fear" is back to form with a full tilt hardcore charge of raw and political Punk rock. Recorded By Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil). Both tracks were featured on Born/Dead's recent Tour-Only 12" but have been re- mastered by John Golden, This is the debut of new drummer Josh. Limited edition copies were pressed on red and white vinyl.
