Musically they are metal-edged crust with ultra-fast riffing and gutturally growled vocal earning them well-deserved comparisons to DOOM, HIATUS and VISIONS OF WAR but with the metal-influences edge of the likes of early BOLT THROWER, ORDER OF THE VULTURE and HELLSHOCK. This LP contains twelve tracks which all have angry political lyrics in either French and English. Genöme makes a follow up to their ”The Sound Of Loud Ringing In The Ear – tape” this time with some changes within the band that can be noticed in a good way. As a new bassplayer has taken control of the noise it's been a more distincts way of bringing out the wall of thundernoise. The satisfying and chaotic combination of the mental drumming, noisy guitar and furious vocals makes this a full on mad and powerfull follow up. First full lenght on vinyl by this Russian hammer. After numerous CD releases, split EP with Diskelmä and split 10″ with Eskatologia Distress have taken their raw metallic hammering hardcore more into stenchcore territory, but still maintaining quite a lot of speed. Hellshock comes to mind, only this is rawer. A great LP packed in a nice gatefold sleeve.

The band contains members from Insidious Process, Black hole of Calcutta, The Makai, Displaced, Genogeist and Worthless Eaters.

Silence are a highly active post-punk/peace-punk band from Pittsburgh, PA. “The Deafening Sound of Absolutely Nothing” strives (and succeeds) to achieve the perfect mix of between peace and post punk. By taking influences from The Mob, Bauhaus, Zounds, Killing Joke, Amebix, Crass, Conflict, Internal Autonomy and Joy Division SILENCE have created what can only be described a brilliant debut LP. At one moment this record is dark, heavy, and atmospheric and then the next moment it makes you want to dance and sing along. Lyrically SILENCE are much closer to the anarcho side of the previously listed influences. This is the sixth studio album of the long going scottish anarchist punk band "OI POLLOI" (ancient slang for "The Common People") - 15 new songs recorded in 2014 with a retrospective of the many musically influences of previous OI POLLOI records. Here you find the anarcho charged sing-a-long Oi!Punk mixed with D-Beat-Crust and of course classic UK Anarcho Punk.
"Saorsa" means "Freedom" in scottish gaelic and "Freedom" or "Liberty" is the lyrical main subject of this album. Lyrics are mostly sung in English with little excursions into Gaelic, Spanish as well as Yiddish. With all the heavy political content, OI POLLOI never exclude humor in what they do and this is what makes them so sympathic in my eyes.
Responsible for the beautiful artwork was Sonia L. who already contributed to previous OI POLLOI records such as "Fuaim Catha", and this album artwork has now been used to manufacture these amazing picture disc versions of the LP. Pressed in colour (350 copies) or black and white (a very limited 140 copies only!) Things of beauty they are, get one while you can!
