”Scandinavia has a rich history of a certain stereotype: ”punk bands consisting of older metal guys that want to play d-beat and bring the heaviness and brutality of metal along with them”. Skit System, Wolfbrigade, Disfear, etc. This idea evolved across the ocean with Tragedy (USA), whose influence was felt around the world, including back in Scandinavia. Bands like Acursed, Kontrovers, Unkind, etc worked the Tragedy influence back into this sort of metallic kang, and the rest is history (aka A LOT of records by a lot of bands over many years).
It is my personal opinion that Kürøishi has managed to make the first GREAT record in this style since Pazahora made their last album 5 years ago. Veteran dudes from bands like Terveet Kadet and Deathchain playing melodic/epic metal-tinged crusty hardcore, with dynamic, memorable songs and bleak, dark riffs. The obvious comparison is Tragedy, but this is more Scandinavian and less Japanese hardcore, more depressing and more ruckus.”

"The Systematisk Terror-crew is back once again with yet another promising demo, although this time not as wild and straggling as last time. On this record the band has gone for an even rawer approach than on the last one, and they finish these seven tracks of in a raging speed; whilst vomiting political dissatisfaction all over you. The melodic parts digressions of the raw crust/d-beat I was expecting are still here, but much more reduced. Now it doesn�t leave you off with a confused state of mind, as it did before. Instead it enhances the music, and gives it a nice touch of craziness. The previous record was also plagued by really bad-sound quality, but this time the band have pushed themselves to do a serious recording, and that sure paid off! What I have to complain about is the fact that the singer can't keep up with the music at times, and all the lyrics end up in one big messy soup. On the other hand, with a little bit of practice I'm sure that'll solve itself. A fun thing to take note to is that he has a typical Swedish accent to his English singing; quite distinguishing and characteristic. Other than that I feel that Systematisk Terror have climbed several more steps towards a truly solid base for their band, and I look forward to more material once again." (Folzine)

"After seeing one hell of a consert at Utkanten this spring, I've been longing to hear some recorded material from the new malmö four piece Symptom. Budding young punks ripping it up with some furious raw punk with dual vocals, rock'n'roll licks, sing-a-long choruses and slow crushing interludes. Even though it's a demo, it's one hell of a start for the band. Great soundwise as well! I hope for the best and that they'll record some more material soon, because this record was over way too fast! The only thing I'd like to nit pick on is the fact that I miss some lyrics, it'd be great to read. But maybe we'll see some of that on the next release?" (Folkzine)

From the depths of Oakland CA's underground, Odio fulfills the listeners ears with intense rythmatic aggression and delay drenched vocals for the unhinged. Raging grindcore from Sweden in quick blasts that average around a minute each. Expect a fairly raw recording with harsh guitars and vocal screams, lots of speedy blasts contrasted by forceful slower breaks, etc. It's pretty token contemporary grind, comparable in some ways to a more hardcore/punk Nasum blended with Phobia, though there's of course a lot of metal in here too.
“We Don’t Need Them” is the second full-length record from West Virginia punks Appalachian Terror Unit. ATU have become known throughout the years as being one of the most politically charged bands in the current punk scene. This new record is an all out attack on today’s society that takes ATU to a new level of intensity both lyrically and musically. The combination of the beautiful and thought provoking gatefold cover (with art designed by Stiv of War) along with the brilliant recording and mastering job by Jay Matheson at the Jam Room take this record even further.
Song subjects include the horrors of war, police brutality, destruction of the environment, rape culture, consumerism and much more. Expect a very heavy and much angrier approach from a band that has been around the block and matured their sound. In 1996 AUS-ROTTEN released their first LP “The System Works For Them” on an unsuspecting punk scene. It spread like wildfire in a pre internet era within a genre that mostly depended on tape trading. (at least is was pre internet for us penniless punks) “The System Works For Them” was the perfect mix of anger and intelligence that the scene needed at the time (and still does today). It was like a wake up call that opened the eyes and ears to many punks the world over. The messages where crystal clear and most us were hooked as soon as the beginning shouts of “Boycott” bellowed over the speakers. I don’t believe any of us ever expected their message to resonate so well within the scene, but even more surprising is how the songs are just as relevant today as on they the day they were written. Which is why PROFANE EXISTENCE has decided to repress this record. We feel that that messages that AUS-ROTTEN brought to the table are to powerful to ignore. We feel that this LP is important and therefore should be highly available and priced affordably. We feel that those that would charge over exorbitant prices on eBay or Discogs have forgotten the message.
