”Third full length and final chapter of their trilogy started with Disllusione, followed by Mai Come Voi and ending with this new masterpiece of old school Italian hardcore punk (think of Wretched and Eu's Arse above any other) mixed with Scandi style d-beat (Anti Cimex, Wolfpack and Shitlickers) with a lot of UK82 echoes (G.B.H, Broken Bones, English Dogs and Varukers). Mario's typical pissed off vocals are now pushed over the top. Same for the guitar worships and the pummeling rhythm section. A little bit of metal here and there but don't call them metal punk!!! This is what Wretched would have sounded if they've ever played a Death Side cover performed by Anti Cimex. Definitely their best stuff up to date. 11 songs of pure Italian anger towards the usual common enemies. Artwork by Stiv Of War.” Agi-punk

Six years ago Russia’s Fatum first blasted our ears with their album Skverna. Six years is quite a long time in anything. But even longer in underground music. The band since have released records nearly every year, including split ep’s with Cancer Spreading and Distress.
With this, their new album Life Dungeon, they have surpassed themselves and reached a pinnacle in their music. People tend to debate platitude and genres in music. Whereas Fatum crank up their amps and don’t give two flying fucks what the latest avant-garde musical trend is.
Since their inception, their music is very much derived from the UK crust sound of Deviated Instinct and Out From The Void-era Antisect, but with the modus operandi being very much their own. This album opens with a wall of piercing feedback which develops into aggressive chugging with menacing chromatic chords. Also, Fatum have developed a more intense-styled, thrash-tinged guitar akin to Concrete Sox or Hellbastard. Certainly, the opening tune “Enter The Dungeon” has a Sewerside-era Concrete Sox influence. The vocals are rasping, hoarse and spat out like insults.
I’m sure in most reviews of Fatum the word ‘stenchcore’ will be mentioned – and that is fully understandable – yet there are parts such as the closing of the song “Fate” that ends very melodically. Which reoccurs, without being identical through “Escape The Dungeon,” giving it an almost prevailing tone. Of course it all eventually goes back to serious riffs. Honestly, I think could listen to the riff in “The Man Behind” all day.

Hailing from Poland, singining in Polish but not playing the Polish style crust punk you might be familiar with, played some 20 years ago. This can successfully land on your shelf next to the likes of DOOM, ENT or DISRUPT and you wouldn’t tell this band comes from an Eastern European country with serious hang-ups. Because, in fact, it is complexes-free band, that assumes boundries ceased to exist ages ago. Having learned their crust job in bands like FILTH OF MANKIND or MONEY DRUG, you know they will deliver the extremely well balanced crust punk.

Debut album from Prague's crusties KRÜGER - Oblbnute Mozky LP is out now! Get it now and be destroyed with raw and brutal d-beat / crust with double vocals alá Anti-Cimex / Crude SS. Anatomi-71 are back with a vengence. This is indeed a progression and a step forward from their most excellent HEJ KOM OCH HJÄLP MIG MCD. Clever and thoughtful lyrics; which make this band somewhat alone in what they are doing and doubtfully will stand out from the rest. Prepare yourself for a d-beat attack of furious anger; despair and the with the glimpse in the eye. Thus towards new heights.
DEATHTOLL and BLOWN TO BITS are both from the Bay Area in California.DEATHTOLL bring on a thick guitar sound drawn from scandi-influenced writing and vocals that punish your eardrums.Contains ex-members of ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT and DEFACE. BLOWN TO BITS are total crustpunk full of d-beats and clever guitar hooks.

”Scandinavia has a rich history of a certain stereotype: ”punk bands consisting of older metal guys that want to play d-beat and bring the heaviness and brutality of metal along with them”. Skit System, Wolfbrigade, Disfear, etc. This idea evolved across the ocean with Tragedy (USA), whose influence was felt around the world, including back in Scandinavia. Bands like Acursed, Kontrovers, Unkind, etc worked the Tragedy influence back into this sort of metallic kang, and the rest is history (aka A LOT of records by a lot of bands over many years).
It is my personal opinion that Kürøishi has managed to make the first GREAT record in this style since Pazahora made their last album 5 years ago. Veteran dudes from bands like Terveet Kadet and Deathchain playing melodic/epic metal-tinged crusty hardcore, with dynamic, memorable songs and bleak, dark riffs. The obvious comparison is Tragedy, but this is more Scandinavian and less Japanese hardcore, more depressing and more ruckus.”

Crutches, from Malmö/Sweden, delivers a fast and full throttle wall-breaker of d-beat and raw agression. As a result of the political clima of the recent election the autumn of 2018 has somewhat become an answer, and feeling of d-beat rebelion. Raw and brutal and straight to the point. Kontrasosial, from Bandung/Indonesia, shoots out 8 brilliant death-metal d-beaters in the way of brutality. Against fascist shitsystem and sold out political unjust system of corruption. This split celebrates the tour companions of these two bands and holds to coming Chaos Riders.
Tape release by Apa Adanya, Doombringer and Disaster records.

Together with this you get well played melodic crust hardcore with totally great and furious female vocals. This is a split release together with band themselves and N.E.R., D.I.Y. hardcore punk as it should be.

"The Systematisk Terror-crew is back once again with yet another promising demo, although this time not as wild and straggling as last time. On this record the band has gone for an even rawer approach than on the last one, and they finish these seven tracks of in a raging speed; whilst vomiting political dissatisfaction all over you. The melodic parts digressions of the raw crust/d-beat I was expecting are still here, but much more reduced. Now it doesnt leave you off with a confused state of mind, as it did before. Instead it enhances the music, and gives it a nice touch of craziness. The previous record was also plagued by really bad-sound quality, but this time the band have pushed themselves to do a serious recording, and that sure paid off! What I have to complain about is the fact that the singer can't keep up with the music at times, and all the lyrics end up in one big messy soup. On the other hand, with a little bit of practice I'm sure that'll solve itself. A fun thing to take note to is that he has a typical Swedish accent to his English singing; quite distinguishing and characteristic. Other than that I feel that Systematisk Terror have climbed several more steps towards a truly solid base for their band, and I look forward to more material once again." (Folzine)

"After seeing one hell of a consert at Utkanten this spring, I've been longing to hear some recorded material from the new malmö four piece Symptom. Budding young punks ripping it up with some furious raw punk with dual vocals, rock'n'roll licks, sing-a-long choruses and slow crushing interludes. Even though it's a demo, it's one hell of a start for the band. Great soundwise as well! I hope for the best and that they'll record some more material soon, because this record was over way too fast! The only thing I'd like to nit pick on is the fact that I miss some lyrics, it'd be great to read. But maybe we'll see some of that on the next release?" (Folkzine)
